Engineering Electromagnetics
The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Memorial University of Newfoundland, invites applications for a 3-year term appointment in Engineering Electromagnetics commencing June 1, 2012 or earliest thereafter.
Candidates are expected to have a basic degree in Engineering or Applied Science and an earned Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a cognate area. The appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and salary will be commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications and experience. The successful candidate is expected to register as a professional engineer in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the academic programs of the Faculty, including teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and other educational, scholarly and professional activities. Experience with teaching in subjects founded on electromagnetics as well as in electronic communications and signal processing would be an asset. The suite of courses that may be expected to be taught by the successful candidate includes Engineering Electromagnetics, Antennas, Signals and Systems, Communications, Circuits, and relevant courses in Electrical Engineering. The candidate will also be expected to conduct research and supervise graduate students in the areas of high frequency radar and microwave radar as part of the AIF HF-ROSA project.
