| Events | Dec 18 , 2011 - The 35th AMOP Technical Seminar on Environmental Contamination and Response will be held from June 5 to 7, 2012 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The seminar is an international forum on preventing, assessing, containing and cleaning up spills of hazardous materials in every type of environment. Deadline for abstract submission is Dec 31st, 2011.

Nov 14 , 2011 - The "Offshore Oil Spill in Harsh Environments - from Challenges to Opportunities" workshop, which was organized by NRPOP Lab and sponsored by NSERC, RDC, MITACS, CAPP, and MUN, has been successully held at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown St. John's.

Oct 29 , 2011 - Congratulations to Dr. Bing Chen, Liang Jing, and Dr. Baiyu Zhang. Their paper entitled "Wetland Monitoring, Characterization and Modeling under Changing Climate in the Canadian Subarctic" has been accepted by Journal of Environmental Informatics.

Oct 11 , 2011 - Dr. Kenneth Lee, who is the executive director from COOGER at Fisheries and Oceans Canada gave the faculty a seminar with regard to the chemical dispersant treatment of the recent oil spill in the Golf of Mexico. Most NRPOP members also gave a few presentations. |

Oct 4 , 2011 - Two 2-d flow cells were finished and moved back to the NRPOP lab. These 4' by 4' flow cells can be used to observe groundwater pollution plume and sample water samples from 16 different spots to aid mathematical simulation. |
