Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Solid Mechanics

The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the area of applied mechanics and mechanical design, with specialization in solid mechanics and stress analysis.

The appointment will commence on April 1, 2012, or shortly thereafter.

Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in engineering as well as a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, and demonstrate the potential for excellence in both teaching and research. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to register as a professional engineer in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Duties will include teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, developing laboratory facilities, supervising graduate and undergraduate student research, and undertaking an active, funded research program. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
