Angus Bruneau Student LIFE Forum 2010
The 2010 Angus Bruneau Student Life Forum will take place on
Saturday, September 18, at the Battery Hotel in St. John’s.
This year’s forum will feature discussions on leadership,
sustainability and innovation. The one-day conference is
fully-funded by Drs. Angus and Jean Bruneau’s donation to the
Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, the Leadership and
Innovation Fund for Engineering students.
The second annual conference’s planning committee, composed
of Memorial’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied
Science’s Student Society ‘A’ executive members,
invite you to come out and take part in this interactive day. Our
goal is to encourage students to initiate positive changes
throughout their degree and post graduation, as well as interact
with fellow students who share similar interests and ambitions.
The day will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. and continue
throughout the morning with a mixture of keynote speakers and
breakout sessions, beginning with a high-energy icebreaker event
from Mr. Tom Brophy, director of Student Success Programs with
Memorial’s Student Affairs and Services. The breakouts will
be small interactive group sessions all sharing a common
characteristic – ways in which engineers and engineering
students can display leadership and innovation. These sessions will
give students the opportunity to share their thoughts on a topic as
they are guided by an expert in the area.
Snacks and lunch will be provided throughout the day and will
conclude with a prize draw to show you how much we appreciated your
attendance!
