Tenure-Track Appointment
The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Memorial University of Newfoundland, invites applications for a tenure track appointment in Electrical and Computer Engineering commencing June 1, 2012 or earliest thereafter. The desired area of expertise is electrical engineering, with specific focus in an area relevant to renewable energy systems, such as hydro power, ocean power, solar energy or wind energy and enabling technologies including power electronics, power generation, transmission and distribution.
Candidates should have an earned Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a cognate area. The appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and salary will be commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the academic programs of the Faculty, including teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing undergraduate laboratories, supervising graduate students, and other educational, scholarly and professional activities. As well, it is desirable that the candidate be able to develop appropriate research collaborations with industry, government institutions, and other university researchers. The successful candidate is expected to register as a professional engineer in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering discipline has well-established co-operative undergraduate programs in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, as well as active graduate and research programs.
