B.Eng., M.Eng. (Harbin); PhD (Memorial)
I received my B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in communications
and electronics system, communications engineering from Harbin
Institute of Technology, Harbin, P.R.China, in 1992 and 1995
respectively. I worked at Baosteel Groups and Nokia
Telecommunications as a communications engineer and network system
group manager from 1995 to 1999, respectively. I joined Memorial
University of Newfoundland in September 1999 working towards my
doctoral degree, and I passed my PhD defense with distinction in
July 2004.
I have been an associate professor in Memorial's Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science since September 2008. Prior to that, from January 2003 to September 2008, I was an assistant professor with the Faculty. My research interests include mobile ad hoc and wireless sensor networks, wireless communications and mobile computing, switching and routing, and broadband communications networks.
I am currently an editorial board member/associate editor of four international journals, including the "Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Journal" and "Security and Communication Networks Journal". I have served as TPC Symposium co-chair for many international conferences, including IEEE ICC and GLOBECOM. I am a registered professional engineer (P.Eng.) of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador . I am a senior member of the IEEE and its Communications and Computer Society.
