I received the M. Sc. and Ph. D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, Romania, in 1991 and 1998, respectively. Between 1998 and 2001 I was an assistant professor at "Politehnica" University. In 2000 and 2001 I was the recipient of the Royal Society and Fulbright fellowships at the Westminster University, in London, and Stevens Institute of Technology, in Hoboken, New Jersey, respectively. I then joined the New Jersey Institute of Technology, as a research associate.

I am currently an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland. My teaching activities include courses in communications and signal processing. My research interests include blind algorithms for modulation classification, parameter estimation techniques, multiple antenna systems, multicarrier modulation techniques, cyclostationarity applications in communications and signal processing, high-resolution techniques for radar imaging, ARQ for Wireless, and modeling and simulation of communication systems.
