A study conducted by Australian scientists showed evidence that humans were exposed to microplastics. Microplastics are plastic particles with size less than 5 millimeters. They are usually formed in oceans and found in seafood, bottled water, soil and air, which are potential to affect humans. Now the study has confirmed that humans across the globe were exposed to microplastics, with an average of 20 microplastic particles per 10 grams stool.

The study highlights the threat of microplastics to human health, but more questions should be taken seriously and answered.

For example:

1) How would microplastics affect human health?

2) What and how can microplastics enter the human body?

3) What is the fate and behavior of microplastics in the body?

4) How to control the exposure and impact of microplastics to humans?
