Warm up your programming tools and make sure you can submit assignments though D2L.

This assignment, which is not for credit, is designed to ensure that you are able to follow all of the steps that will be required for assignments 1 through 5. Start by downloading the following C++ source file:

This file looks much like our “hello world” example from lectures, but with two key differences:

  1. the code has been split into two functions, and
  2. there is something missing!

Your objective is to complete the missing code so that the program prints Hello, world! again. You should take the following steps:

  1. create an empty C++ project in your IDE (Eclipse, XCode, Visual Studio…) or an empty file in an online editor like,
  2. copy the provided assign0.cpp into your project,
  3. fix the project by adding the missing code (remembering to save),
  4. compile and run the code to make sure it works and
  5. submit via D2L.

Remember, assignments are individual work: you must complete the assignment yourself.
