President's Message

Kshama

My name is Kshama Sundar Roy (You can call me SHAMA) and I will be serving as the Engineering Graduate Students' Society (EGSS) President for the 2012-2013 year.

I am really proud and honoured to serve the EGSS as the President and am looking forward to continuing the legacy of excellence that has come before me. The main function of this society is to act as a bridge between the Engineering graduate students and the Faculty of Engineering and I am very excited to represent the collective voice of all the Engineering graduate students of MUN.

EGSS guides the newly joined Engineering graduate Students with their initial settlement issues. It also helps the current engineering graduate students in different academic and social issues. We, as a part of Engineering grad society, know how stressful the term can be with several courses, thousands(!) of assignments, hundreds(!) of term papers and tests, so we will also try to organize some events for all of us to have some fun and recreation.

This year I will be also working hard to gather and develop the opinions and ideas of engineering graduate students at MUN and introduce them to the external and professional associations which will help the students in their professional affairs.

So I would request you to participate with your friends and family in all our events. EGSS is the representative of the total Engineering grad community but we, as the individual persons may not have the grasp over all the problems of all the students. So please come forward and let us know whenever there is an issue; I promise that we will try to solve it together.

EGSS itself is a 100% volunteering association and it cannot run without volunteers and we are constantly looking for students to help run our various initiatives.

I would also like to thank the past executives for their contribution to the EGSS. I look forward to working with an amazing executive team this upcoming year and am very excited about the potential we have as a group of student leaders.

In short, I would like to encourage all the Engineering Grad students in the faculty to come out together this year to start a new journey; a journey to dreams...

"Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress and working together is success." ----Henry Ford
