President's Message

Engineering Graduate Student Society is a student society by the engineering grad students to the engineering grad students and from the engineering grad students.

As mentioned above this society will be run by the seven executives engineering grad students who are been elected at the annual general elections. The current executives on board are as follows:

The main function of this society is to act as a bridge between the Engineering graduate students and the Faculty of Engineering. It will try to solve the student's problems by taking them to the notice of appropriate department. A detailed list of duties of the executive members and there contact details are provided in the web page. You can contact any of the executive members for discussing the issues.

This society will guide the newly joined grad Students with there initial settlement issues. It represents the Engineering grad. community, at both the Faculty council meetings where most of the decisions regarding our academic issues will be taken and Graduate Student Union meetings where we will work on the common issues of all the grad students across the university.

On the social side EGSS will run the weekly coffee club which is very popular among the grad students. With the coordination of Assoc. Dean's office It will also organize the welcoming party for new incoming grad students every fall. We as a new committee is taking a new initiative of conducting the hotdog lunches once in a month.

We as a part of Engineering grad society know how stressful will be the term with courses, assignments, term papers and tests so we normally plan some time out of this busy schedules by organizing some social events like bowling nights, Visits for near by sight seeing places ect., to name a few.

So as the President of our Engineering Graduate Student Society I ask all the grad students to actively participate in all the events being conducted by EGSS. We the society is the representatives of the total grad community but we as the individual persons may not have the grasp over all the problems of all the students. My request for all the grad student community is that when ever there is an issue please come forward and let us know about it, we will work on it to solve it.

With Regards,

Robert Cove
