Dr. George is an Honorary Life Member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of School Councils (since 2005),
first recipient of the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Academic Service (2013),
recipient of the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence (2015),
recipient of the President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching (2016), and
Honorary Member of PEGNL (Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador, awarded 2018 June 07).
