My full name is Janaka Theja Deepakumara. Please call me Janaka.

I am originally from Sri Lanka. My hometown is Kandy, which is the second major city of the country. Now I am a permanent resident in Canada.

I graduated in 1992 from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. It is the largest and oldest university in the country. It is located in a place, which is full of natural beauty.

After graduation I worked as an Electrical Engineer for two years. After that I joined with Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation as a project engineer. While I was in SLBC I had a chance to take a major part in the island wide FM network project.

At present I am a graduate student in the Memorial University of Newfoundland. I am doing my masters degree under the supervision of Dr. Howard M. Heys and Dr. R. Venkatesan. My research area is hardware implementation of selected ciphers and algorithms mainly related to Internet security.

I am married to Chandrika, who is a graduate student in Memorial University. She is doing her research in the area of food science.
