Course Schedule:

Lectures: Three lectures per week. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 14:00-14:50, all in EN-1054

Office Hours:  Thursdays 17:00-17:30 and Fridays 16:00-17:30

Quiz Dates: May 25 (Q1), June 8 (Q2), July 6 (Q3)

Labs: 8 lab sessions.

Midterm Tests: June 15 and July 20

 

Evaluation Scheme:
Quizzes:                 10 %   

Labs:                            15 %   

Midterm exam:             25 % (Tentatively June 15 and July 20, all on Thursday 16:00-16:50)

Final exam:                   50 %

Contents:
The course provides an introduction to semiconductor electronic devices and circuits. Topics covered include internal structure of electronic devices; working principles, dc and small-signal models and analysis of p-n junction diodes, bipolar junction transistors and field effect transistors; introduction to digital electronics; differential and multistage amplifier circuits; Miller's theorem; frequency response of discrete amplifiers; practical applications of the devices to the design of power supplies, amplifiers and switching circuits. CAD tools are used to illustrate the analysis and design of electronic circuits.
