Footwork is important in Squash

The FootworkerTM-S is a unique, micro-processor controlled device designed for all levels of squash players to improve both movement (foot work) around the squash court and fitness. In other words, the FootworkerTM-S is designed to help you perform ghosting routines more effectively. The FootworkerTM-S is designed for four different skill levels, progressing from Level D to Level A. Level D is for the novice player where the rally is relatively short and the time between hits are longer allowing the player more time to move to the indicated position and to return to the T. The higher the level, the longer and quicker are the rallies.  The number of hits at each level (length of rally) is also random within a certain range depending on the level set. There is a ten-second break between rallies.  A game can be simulated by doing several consecutive rallies.  There is also a turbo mode, a front only, and a back only mode.

The FootworkerTM-S, which is normally placed on the front of the squash court, has an array of 10 lights positioned on the device to reflect the typical positions from where a squash ball is hit. When a particular light is illuminated the player moves to that position on the court and hits an imaginary ball from that position. Once the level has been set by the coach or player, the FootworkerTM-S runs automatically. It then produces a properly timed pseudo-random pattern of flashing lights designed to simulate a rally.  With constant practice with the FootworkerTM-S, efficient foot work will be developed and fitness will be improved.
