Teaching and other
education related activities:
For
a number of years I was responsible for the component of the undergraduate
engineering programme in "complementary studies" (courses in the humanities
and social sciences, and the place of engineering in society). I am a member
of the Mechanical Engineering discipline group, chairing it from 1997-99,
and teach, or have recently taught , courses on engineering materials,
corrosion, and biomedical engineering, as well as a general introduction
to engineering.
I
have also been a member of the Board of Studies for the M Phil Programme
in Humanities, which is an exciting interdisciplinary graduate programme
drawing faculty from many faculties while based in the Faculty of Arts.
