GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING I - EN4723

Engineering 4723 - Geotechnical Engineering I - is the first of three geotechnical engineering courses offered in the Civil Engineering program at Memorial University. It is basically a Soil Mechanics course, dealing primarily with the physical and mechanical properties of soils.

Course outline: Soil description and classification; Soil compaction; Flow of water in soils; Effective stress concept; Stresses in a soil mass; Compressibility of soils.
