
The J.I. Clark Chair
of Intelligent Systems for Operations in Harsh Environments was
presented to Memorial University of
Newfoundland in November 2000 by C-CORE
on the occasion of C-CORE’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The Chair honours the continuing
achievement of Dr. J.I. (Jack) Clark, an accomplished contributor to the field
of engineering who, during his time as C-CORE president (1984-1997), originated
C-CORE’s Harsh Environments Initiative and
the Intelligent Systems Group. The research activities of the J.I. Clark
Chair are also supported by INCO Limited and the
European Space Agency Technology
Transfer Programme.
The
J.I. Clark Chair is held by Dr Ray Gosine, Professor of Electrical and Computer
Engineering, in the Faculty of Engineering
and Applied Science at Memorial University.
