Min Yang received her bachelor and master degree in Environmental Engineering from Hubei Polytechnic University, China in 2014 and Wuhan University of Technology, China in 2017. In 2018, she started her PhD program at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Civil Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Baiyu (Helen) Zhang.

She has solid background in environmental engineering. During the past years, she has done a lot of research in heavy metals wastewater treatment and organic polluted soil remediation, which have gained interesting results. Her current research is focusing on the advanced oil pollution control in northern coastal region. She is conducting some investigations in the applications of biosurfactants to coastal oil pollution control.
