Yifu Chen graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in Environmental System Engineering & Management in 2019. As a gradual attraction he developed in environmental science during his first master program, he decided to pursue a second master’s degree in environmental engineering under the supervision of Dr. Chen.
He has a solid background in multidisciplinary engineering science. Additionally, he has expertise in mathematical, numerical, and predictive modelling as well as linear and nonlinear classification and regression analysis. During the time, he found his research interest in data science and devoted himself in tackling environmental problems using his background. His research is about data analysis applications in all kinds of environmental fields, e.g., oil spills, oil fingerprinting, microplastic classification etc. The papers he published were machine learning and deep learning related to oil fingerprinting and microplastic with Dr. Bing Chen.
