Xiao Zheng obtained his B.Eng in Mechanics engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 2012. In the February of 2013, he started pursuing his M.Eng degree under the supervision of Dr. Bing Chen. He has a solid background of fluid mechanics, environmental system analysis, and process physical and numerical modelling. His research mainly focuses on the hydrodynamic modelling for the off-shore oil spilling.

Currently, Xiao Zheng is working on building a simulation and forecasting model for the north ocean of Newfoundland with the potential oil spilling. He also does research about designing an inlet channel system for the engineered wetland with environmental friendly materials.
