He Zhang

He Zhang obtained her B.Eng in environmental engineering from South China University of Technology in 2009. She joined the MESEM program at MUN and graduate in 2011. In 2015, she obtained her M.Eng degree under the supervision of Dr. Helen Zhang. He Zhang has a solid background in environmental engineering and analysis.

He Zhang is currently working on the activation of carbon that extracted from fly ash, as well as the development of a carbon filtration technology to remove the natural organic matter from drinking water source in the rural small communities in Newfoundland and Labrador.

She previously worked on the integration of an existing soil washing system with bio-surfactants and nano technology to better cleanup the PCB contaminated sites and developed advanced analytic methods for PCBs. She also precipitated in producing the biosurfactant by culturing the petroleum microbes and developing the optimal culture condition.
