Faculty Boardroom (EN 4002) S.J. Carew (Engineering) Bldg.

Speaker:   Peter Wu, P.Eng., President & CEO

ABSTRACT

The presentation outlines some of the key features of the Reinforced Earth technology, from design considerations to practice, as they apply to the conditions in various applications, which may be of interest to practitioners.

The presentation will include a concept review of Reinforced Earth Company Group's research and philosophies behind our design considerations, material selection, and practical applications.

Examples will be shown in some of the Company's notable historical project accomplishments in different markets in the competitive industry. Highlights will be shown for applications in retaining walls of significant heights, to high-security load-supporting structures, such as bridge abutments, precast arches, heavily surcharged structures in industrial truck dumps, large volume industrial storage facilities, and marine structures.
