CE 8700 Project Course Awards Presentations, 2002
 
As a part of the final semester (Term 8) of the Civil Engineering curriculum at Memorial University, students are required to enroll in Engineering 8700 - Civil Engineering Project.  The Memorial University Calendar describes Engineering 8700 as: At the end of the term, the papers are submitted for evaluation, and each group must present its project to a committee of engineers, usually made up of project clients, as well as professors of the faculty.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2002, CSCE presented to the Building Design Concepts group the CSCE Award for Best Project
Presentation in CE 8700 Project Course.

The group project was the Design of a Concrete Dry Dock for Bull Arm for their client, AMEC. The presentation took place in the Senior Civil Home Room after the Iron Ring ceremony.

The award for Best Overall Project was renamed the W.J. Campbell Award in memory of Prof. Wally J. Campbell, P. Eng., who passed away in January, 1998.   Professor Campbell was a long-time CSCE Faculty rep and member.
