The Biophysical Communication Engineering Lab (BioPhysComm Lab) is rooted in communications engineering but highly interdisciplinary. We are interested in attracting members from a range of backgrounds, including engineers, biologists, programmers, and physicists.
Current Research Employment Opportunities:
Are you are interested in joining the BioPhysComm lab? You can directly email adam.noel@mun.ca. You should briefly explain why you are interested in the BioPhysComm Lab and attach an up-to-date CV.
Funding opportunities are available for highly-qualified candidates and we can support applications to external scholarships.

From 2018 to 2024 he was with the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick in Coventry, UK. He received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2009 from Memorial University. He received the M.A.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2011 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2015, both from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. In 2013, he was a Visiting Scientist at the Institute for Digital Communication at Friedrich-Alexander-University in Erlangen, Germany. He has also been a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa and the University of Montreal (2016-2018). His research interests are in the prediction and control of biophysical systems at a microscopic level. Dr. Noel is currently an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Molecular, Biological, and Multi-Scale Communications. He is also serving as Chair for the IEEE Communication Society's Technical Committee on Molecular, Biological, and Multi-Scale Communications (2024-2025). He has received awards including a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Council of Canada and a Best Paper Award at the 2016 IEEE International Conference on Communications.
