NSERC CREATE Training Program for Offshore Technology Research (OTR) will focus on four research themes:
Floating Structures
Research will focus on modeling of harsh environments, responses of offshore platforms in harsh environments, structural integrity, dynamic positioning, and development of advanced evacuation and rescue systems for operations in ice and harsh environments.
Mooring Lines and Risers
Research areas include coupled hull/mooring/riser analysis and vortex induced vibration of marine risers;
Corrosion Material Engineering
Innovative corrosion protection and monitoring technology will be developed for offshore infrastructures;
Subsea Technology
Including subsea and pipeline infrastructure for the oil and gas industry, and underwater vehicles.
