Training of Highly Qualifed Personnel (HQP)

  • 300+ HQP in total incl. 70+ research HQP under my sole-/co-supervision (50+ completed including 20+ thesis Master’s, 20+ PhD, & 10+ PDFs), and 220+ non-research HQP (including undergraduate students and non-thesis Master’s students as academic advisor or project supervisor).

  • 40+% female students and 60+% from underrepresented groups

  • Trainees received 50+ awards at institutinal, national and internatinoal levels (NSERC PDF/PGS/USRA, Chevron Canada Ltd Rising Star Awards, David Dunsiger Graduation Award, assoication/conference/journal awards from CSCE/CAWQ/AEHS/ASCE/IOOSC/IUPAC/CCCE, etc.)

  • Hosting of 40+ visiting scholars nationwide and worldwide (Canada, USA, UK, Norway, France, Australia, China, Singapore, Brazil, etc.)

  • 80+ examination committees for PhD and masters' theses and PhD comprehensive exams within Memorial and beyond

  • Graduated students have been successfully employed in private/public sectors (e.g., lead/senior engineers/scientist) and academia (e.g., PDFs and Assistant/Associate/Full Professors/Chairs/Associate Deans)
