Four quizzes: | 40% |

Final Examination: | 60% |
The grade may be awarded on the basis of the final examination alone, if that is better for an individual student.
Each quiz will be conducted during the last 20 minutes
of a regular Wednesday lecture period.
In the event that classes are cancelled on the day of a quiz,
that quiz will be rescheduled for the next MATH 1090 lecture period.
Quiz 1 | 2002 Jan. 30 | Unit 1 | 10% |
Quiz 2 | 2002 Feb. 20 | Unit 2 | 10% |
Quiz 3 | 2002 Mar. 13 | Unit 3 | 10% |
Quiz 4 | 2002 Mar. 27 | Units 4, 5 | 10% |

There will also be problem sets of practice questions, (approximately one set each week). While these questions will not be marked (and will not count directly towards the final grade for this course), it is in a students own best interest to make an honest attempt at all questions in each problem set. These questions are intended to provide the practice essential for a good performance in the quizzes and the final examination. Solutions to problem set questions will be posted on this web site approximately one week after the presentation in class of the material that they cover.
